Two years ago I traveled across Germany for six weeks. From flat coastal regions over countless rivers and lakes to high mountains, Germany offers varied landscapes.
On my road trip across the whole country I was able to discover so many lovely and beautiful places. The unique appearance of each region was simply incredible.
The Schrecksee is a small mountain lake in the Allgäu Alps in Bavaria. The lake is located at about 1800 m altitude in a boiler-like high valley and can only be reached on foot. The Schrecksee is definitely one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in Germany.
The Bastei Area with the very famous Bastei Bridge is one of the most visited places in Saxon Switzerland. As a photographer you can discover numerous impressive rock formations. The viewing platforms offer a wonderful view of the surroundings.
The Seealpsee in the Allgäu Alps in Bavaria is a mountain lake at 1622 meters altitude. The lake can be easily reached from the Nebelhornbahn via the Zeigersattel. The Seealpsee is definitely one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in Germany.
The Ilse Valley is located in the northern part of the Harz National Park in Saxony-Anhalt. You can easily walk through the natural forest along the Ilse with its small water falls. From the Ilsestein you have a wonderful view of the entire valley.
The Hintersee is a very accessible lake near Ramsau in the Berchtesgadener Land. The romantic mountain lake with its crystal-clear and emerald-green water is one of the most beautiful lakes in Bavaria and therefore a very popular destination.
The Kehlstein is an approximately 1881 meter high side summit of the Gölls and is one of the most visited tourist attractions in the Berchtesgadener Land. From the top of the mountain you have a wonderful view of the Watzmann and the Königssee.
The Eibsee is located near Garmisch-Partenkirchen below the Zugspitze (highest mountain in Germany) in the Wetterstein Mountains. The Eibsee with its clear, green toned water is one of the most beautiful lakes in Bavaria and always worth a visit.
The Weststrand on the peninsula Fischland-Darß-Zingst is one of the most beautiful and varied coastal landscapes at the Baltic Sea. During a relaxing walk you will find uprooted trees, unspoiled pine forests and miles of sandy beaches.
The Obersee is a natural mountain lake and is located at the Königssee in the Berchtesgaden National Park. The Obersee is one of the most beautiful places in Germany and can only be reached by boat. It offers countless perspectives for taking pictures.
The Magic Forest is located at the Hintersee in the Berchtesgadener Land. The whole area was created by a landslide and is traversed by the river Ramsauer Ache. The natural forest is perfect for walking and taking amazing pictures.
